Most christian books and teachings in Christian Book stores Obselete?

Yea charles I know what you mean. Im having a revival right now myself. I watched jim martin live the other night and got tremendously blessed and changed simply being in on his live service by the internet. charles I forgot all about the blogs , and chat rooms thats another possibility and you are right. I love the praise and worship videos of the prayer center even though the words are little hard to pick up right now. Man this is revival through media I never dreamed of would happen. Patrick

Patrick... "revival through media" That wording caught my attention.

Now that is an interesting thought - an interesting connection of words. This connects with Pam’s thread “What Will a True Revival Look Like?”
What if ??? the revival took place ON the internet! What if healings and miracles took place through tweets and Facebook pokes, text messages and email?

Talk about Paul’s anointed handkerchiefs and aprons – we “lay hands” on folks through media instead! The change in a believer’s life is presented on their Wall and people are tagged, or the gospel of hope is presented in a chat room…

We would then have to say, “Virtually we’re in revival.” Haha! Or “We’re having a virtual revival.”

Hey, I’ll go on to say that I’m virtually having a revival right now! :)

Well Debbie im back with some DSl glory. I been believing God for some dsl and he made the way for me to have some. Dsl opens up a whole another world of possibilities on the internet. Hey debbie you was talking about the bookstore that closed down well I also think the internet has changed the whole landscape of things. Think about it the internet has made it possible for men like Gary , Dave , and Jim martin to put up websites that are like mine fields that you can walk into and dig up Gold , silver , rubies and precious things of revealation knowledge and get it free. WOW free? How can bookstores deal with that? You can make your own devotionals off of the printed materials on these websites. You can listen to hundreds of sermons on these websites and now because I have Dsl I can now watch videos of praise and worship from the prayer center family here on iktus.net. Indeed its definately revival through media. one more thing as soon as they learn how to make live shows and videos with the same quality and high definition thats on TV then television will be finished and obeselete as well. I also enjoyed jim martin as well watching him live wednesday. patrick

I will comment more in a few more days. Deebie and pamela you said some interesting things about book store closing down and the 3rd and 4th century. I will comment more on those in a few days. Right now im working on getting some DSL So I can move faster and add cooments faster. be back soon.

I’ve heard some people say the Bible itself is a book that is obsolete. But I like what David Hogan has said at times: “I discovered a new verse this morning! They just put it in there. I read it myself.” Then he’d proceed to read the same verse he’d been ministering on for the past week.

The whole point of His death and resurrection is to be reconciled with the Father. That is a close communion with the Father through the Son empowered by our Teacher the Holy Ghost. Ultimately each of us has the capability of that direct communion and fellowship. It is apparent that He tried His best to blast anything that required a mediator between God and man.

I'm sure at some point most of these people that wrote these books had in mind to share what they understood about walking with God. Since so much was lost after the 3rd or 4th centuries we are now trying to regain that lost revelation. Unfortunately there is also the issue of greed and self exaltation that can come into play where someone feels like that have the newest greatest revelation. What a radical idea to hear of ministers that cram down our throats that they are only around to tell us how to hunt for our own meat ourselves. We that have heard the messages from iktusNET are fully responsible for what we have heard. That is a level of maturity that demands that we take that responsibility for our own walk. When that happens we will find more and more that what the Holy Ghost is speaking will not line up with what is being written and/or produced in Christian media, mainly because most of it requires a connection with a minister. Anything that suggests that you have to go through another person solely for that revelation is obsolete at this point.

I think meditation by assimilation and praying in tongues is what making alot of books obeselete right now. I know from my own personal experience of assimilating the whole book of John 81 times and going on to a 100 times and spending atleast 4 hours praying in tongues on a regular basis that im seeing things in the book of John that im sure is not on a book shelf in book stores. Now that is no boasting on my part nor pride and Im constantly endeavoring to stay in Love and be rooted and grounded in love. However my point is by me assimilating and praying in tongues im seeing some awesome things in the book of John thats really blowing my mind. I am now creating a verse by verse commentary of the whole book. Every verse in the book will be explained with precision and accuracy before im done. I remember when I got saved and they taught me to meditate on one verse over and over again but for some reason I always got more than one verse and meditated on a whole lot of verses at one time wondering all the time is this the right things to do then after years I finally hear Dave talk about meditation by assimilation of whole books of gods Word and when I heard that I said oh my God it is possible to meditate on more that one verse at one time you can meditate on whole books one time. I remember Gary saying that when he heard Dave teach on meditation by assimilation he then threw all of his other books he had on meditation away. What happened was those books he had became obesete. Doug...what you said reminded me of two verses:

"How can you say you love God whom you can't see, if you do not love your brother who you can see."

For "Jesus is the express image of the invisible God."

So fellowship with believers - how we treat & care for each other is a gauge by which we know how much we truly love God.

With the richness of the revelation comes the warning Jesus gave, "To whom much is given, much is required."

Well, the prophecy from Jim isn't so much the cause of the teaching. It's been God's mind from the beginning to have revival, and it's probably safe to say an 'end-all' revival that's pretty much going to be the dividing line between Christians and not. Obviously, the cause can be traced back to God, but it's a progressive thing - we're moving towards God while God's coming towards us. Interpret that how you want, you could say James is just being repetitive and stating the obvious: that God gets closer when we take steps towards Him, or that God actually moves towards us and meets us in the middle. Personally, I don't think that matters a whole lot.

But when God found the stubbornness He needs in those like Dave and others to truly show His plans and empower them to follow through, that was what allowed prophecies like Jim's to come forth. God walked those people to each transformational milestone in this journey, from tongues and meditation & assimilation to worship and confession, as these tools carve away each personal care for this world, God shows the individual the next step.

We can't realistically expect our own words to drip with 'anointing and bondage-breaking truth' unless we make the same sacrifices and endure our own journeys of overcoming ourselves and submitting to God the way they have. It's something I had to come to terms with eventually - that moving here, listening to messages, and spouting off secondhand revelation doesn't do the trick.

But I do very much like listening to Jim and his prophecies. He's got a keen insight that's different from Dave's and Gary's...not to take anything away from them. They're all good!
