Happy Reformation Day!
On this day in 1517, Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany. What he wanted to do was start a debate about certain practices in the Church, especially indulgences. What happened instead was the Reformation, and many people being born again because the truth of justification by faith was restored to the Church.

Of course, the world knows this day as a day of spooks, witches, vampires, and devils. The Devil thinks it's his day, but it is not! "This is the day the Lord has made, Let us rejoice and be glad in it!" Psalms 118:24.

Comment by Pamela Cook Dreyer on October 31, 2008 at 10:23am - Great information. Because of that day many Christians stood for their faith questioning the teachings of the church. Many burned at the stake because of this. They died for things that we take for granted. For example one of the things they died for was refusing to take communion because of the belief that you are taking the literal body and blood of Christ where the Bible says to do this in remembrance of Him. When I think about how too many Christians wimp out because someone said something bad about them I cringe. I want to be found to be a person that is bold like Martin Luther to stand for right even if I face death.
