Oh, I want to share a parallel with you that struck me recently.
If you’ll remember Samson’s riddle that he posed at his wedding was, “Out of the eater came forth meat, out of the strong came forth something sweet.”
Now consider this. The lion arose to destroy him. But after killing it and passing by again later, he found that bees had built a nest inside the carcass. From their nest Samson took some honey for food.
How many of us have had the enemy whom roams around like a lion try to rise up and devour us?! But by the mercy grace and spirit of God we overcome him and make it though. Doesn’t matter how beat up, discouraged, tired, worn or damaged we may be. We survived.
Then by the help of God through a process of time He works his healing within our bleeding hearts and brings forth a sweetness that we’d never thought previously possible.
Which is why Isaiah says, “[He] gives them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness”…that he may establish them – plant them – raise them up into righteousness that the Lord will be glorified!
Praise God! I see a season where that which was stolen is returning. I see a season where the Lord is bringing forth sweetness from the dead carcasses of the past – where the Lord is bringing forth sustenance from out of the times the enemy tried to devour. We’ve entered a new season.
