Without going into a lot of history about the tithe, I simply remind us that the tithe existed before the law was brought into effect. The tithe was demonstrated through Abraham, of whom it was said, He is the father of our faith. When Abraham presented the tithe unto Melchisedec, he did not take it of his own goods and own profit to do so. Abraham took the tithe from the spoils of his conquest

heal
O.E. hælan "make whole, sound and well," from P.Gmc. *khailaz (cf. O.S. helian, O.N. heila, O.Fris. hela, Du. heelen, Ger. heilen), lit. "to make whole," which is also the source of O.E. hal (see health). Heal-all as a native word for "panacea" is attested from 1577; applied to various plants since 1853.

My mind never has been able to quite grasp the concept of, "wait and see." I have never been much of a patient person. I need to see instant results and I need the answer to a question 5 seconds ago. I never was good at working out because after 3 visits I didn't see any results. I love a nice tan but I can't force myself to lay there for 15 minutes and I especially can't keep going back after the 5th time with still looking white. So I give up. If I try to do something and I don't have it maste…

"I never thought of it like this before... and then i just kept going"
Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 2:44am | Edit Note | Delete
uh oh, i can feel my mind making the switch back from "art all the time" into it's receive/analyze/respond phase. I just thought of something interesting. I think that maybe art/music does for me while I'm awake the same thing that dreaming does for all of us while were asleep, only on a broader scale; it feels like it somehow helps my mind (even as abstract as the pic…

I am Gods little girl, he loves me more than I can imagine. He will give me anything I ask for because I ask according to his will because I am like my father. I am so special, so blessed, so rich, so talented, so annointed. Because I am just like my father. I can't see him in the natural but he left me a very detailed diary of his life and his thoughts. He described me in his diary, I am the one he speaks of with such ultimate love.
Man can't see how special I am. Even my earthy father can't c…

Recently I listened to Gary talk about how the high priest under the Levitical law only entered the holiest of holies once a year. And he did that only after very careful observation of the prescribed rituals. Because if he did not, he might die in there due to his carelessness.
What dawned on me while I was listening was the fact that the high priest did not have to have a heart that even cared about what he was doing. His heart could be a million miles away. His heart might not even give a fl…

Sometimes I wish I could outlaw the use of certain words in the Church. These words are the ones that you can tell by the way people use them, the people either do not know the meaning of the word, or they chose to give the word a meaning totally opposite its original definition. By the misuse of these words, the words either come to mean nothing, or they are twisted into a perversion of what they once where.
This change is not always deliberate. Most of the time it happens because people don't…

God’s been speaking to me a lot about leadership, and the importance of the negative side as well as the positive. There are always things that people in leadership positions never want to do, things they don’t enjoy doing, things that they don’t get seen doing or get credit for doing…
God’s been talking to me about the importance of setting aside time to spend with Him, not only praying in tongues, but reading the Bible with devotion (i.e. a literal devotional), worshipping, and simply confess…

Lately I am so amazed by God. Seriously, He is showing Himself to be so real in my life. To know God is so different than to hear about Him. Going to church your whole life doesn't mean you really truly know God. You have to establish your OWN relationship with Him for it to mean anything at all. And we are so free to be able to do that.
I have made a lot of mistakes over the past few years and let myself fall into the trap that so many people fall into. Condemnation. Sometimes it's hard to get…

Before reading the rest of this post, please read this post I made on my general blog:
http://randomcontact.blogspot.com/2009/12/critical-communications.html
The meat of that article that applies here is towards the end, starting where I define the communicator's job.
I've had that concept for several years. I recently realized that it is a description of what the Holy Spirit does when we pray…

Since I've lived in Tulsa (almost 5 years), and especially in the past couple years, I've had a rough time settling into a job. I was beginning to nestle into theater management (an incredibly long story), but was ejected from there and have felt like a nomad since. Every time I find myself in a tight spot, I ask God where my ministry is, when I'll finally be able to be a part of the 'other side of the green line', so to speak. And he always asks me when I'll finally step out and do something ab…

More and more in the past year or so, and especially in the past weeks, I've had a growing disdain for religion. Not like what first comes to my mind when I think about it and our typical reaction of eye rolling or mental scoffing, but it feels like someone is pricking my heart with a needle when I hear people spout off religion. To the point where it makes me visibly uncomfortable.
On Facebook a week or so ago, I mentioned how I thought Mike Murdock was a tool. I was watching him on TV, halfhe…

Last night (10 NOV 09), I had a weird dream.
It played out like a scene from a sitcom. Two roommates are sitting in a room. One gets up and says, "It's time for me to water the plastic flowers," as he steps out.
The other roommate yells at him, "You can't water plastic flowers - it won't do any good!"
As the first roommate re-enters the room with a water can and starts watering flowers, he says, "It's okay. I'm using plastic water."
At first, I thought it was just a weird gag from my own min…

Romans 2:1
You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else,
for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself,
because you who pass judgment do the same things.
Coming in my front door the first thing I see is inside the girl's bedroom. (They share a room.) After a long day at work the first thing you want to be bombarded with is NOT a child's messy room. It shames me to say that I am able to stay upbeat and positive at work even through very stressful…

First evening of a short family Bible study went over pretty well, all things considered. Baby boy was just too tired after sitting through Mo's orchestra concert. He went to bed before we started reading. I decided to start it out as reading out of some Bible Story books we have that have a Q & A section after each story. After we finish reading those books we can move on to something with a little more "meat". I can already tell that the devil is trying to keep us from something as simple…

It's sometimes unreal to think that you can have as much of God as you want. Think about someone that to you seems so close to God and they just seem to be super tight with Him. You can have even more of a relationship with God than that. He has so much of Himself to reveal. So much to Him that so many people don't know. He loves us. No love that you know in a human sense can compare to the love that He loves us with. There's no way to measure it. There's no way to comprehend it. But the more yo…

When God heals you of something the devil will try to make you think you've still "got it." When God sets you free from something the devil will try to make you think you're not free and throw those feelings back at you. The devil is a liar! Seriously, he will try to throw symptoms back on you to make you start doubting what God has done. But those symptoms, thoughts or feelings are all a lie. It isn't truth. For one thing, the devil can't "do" anything to you. He can only make you believe what…

It has been nearly a year since I have written anything. That's a pretty long time for someone who finds her healing in writing. The last 2 years and more recently the last 9 months have been a very trying time in my life. Writing is my safe haven and an honest look inside myself. When you feel ugly you avoid all mirrors. I felt ugly inside so I avoided to the mirror into my soul. Writing. All the avoidance and here I am. Back again. I have come out on the other side and my life is a testimony t…
