- My goal is to protect new artists, producers, and professional athletes against unconscionable contractual terms through education and representation. In 1990, I received my Bachelors of Arts Degree in English from Delaware State University located in Dover, DE. In 1993, I earned my Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University School of Law located in Newark, NJ. After completing my judicial clerkship, I opened my law practice in Clifton, New Jersey in which I practiced in the areas of Commercial and Residential Real Estate, Criminal, Civil, Entertainment, Municipal and Corporate law. In 2001, I saw an interview with TLC on VH1 in which they discussed their experience with bankruptcy. At this point, I became interested in how mega artists such as Toni Braxton and TLC are forced to declare bankruptcy after selling millions of records. In 2002, I was hired as an Attorney in the Royalties Department for Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG). In this position with BMG (now Sony BMG), I was responsible for managing the royalties accounts for American Idol Seasons 1, 2 and 3 and such artists as Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Dave Matthews, Heather Headley, Foo Fighters, Elvis Presley, Boyd Tinsley, Clay Aiken and other artist signed to RCA Music Group Record Label. This experience proved to be extremely valuable in enhancing my legal skills as an Entertainment Attorney. I am admitted to the New Jersey State Bar. I will be sitting for July 2009 Georgia Bar Exam. I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and Corporate Counsel Women of Color.
