Revival of Doctrine, Truth, Soundness of Mind and Sanity.

Why should I praise God? Why does he want my praise? Am I just a servant? Can't he love me without my serving him? The idea of serving anyone makes me feel of little value.
Has these questions ever crossed your mind when you discuss God and what is expected of you? Take a minute and think about this, in a marriage praise and worship of the one you love keeps the fire burning. Keeps them close to you, creates in them a desire to do all they can for you. It's called a loving relationship.
Serving is a part of who we are. As children we worked extra hard to do things for our parents that gave them a smile and us a huge hug. We all have a need to be wanted, loved and respected. God is no different in this aspect. He has a need to feel the love, respect and even loyalty that we humans desire also. That is why we were made in his image, he desires no more than what we humans do.
If you think about someone who is divorced, there is an empty place in their lives. No one to show them the basic things that make us feel secure about ourselves. Often a feeling of separation so great that it feels as if your in the universe all alone with no one to turn to for comfort.
Who served who first? Jesus came here to earth to serve man. He took the initiative, the first step in the relationship. What is it that we humans give to God when we praise or worship him? We give him love, honor, pleasure, respect and a personal relationship, not because we are threatened, but because we choose too. You can not force anyone to love you, it comes from free will and a desire of the heart.
When you bow a knee and lower your head in prayer or lift your hands in praise, your becoming more like Jesus. Humble, giving and loving. There is no shame in exhibiting traits of such selflessness. Jesus did it for you. Pride didn't hold him back, will it you? He was honored to give all he had to show you his love. A greater love has never been than his love. So instead of thinking of a servant as someone who is lower than others, remember, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, was a servant before you and for you!

Wow! And Ow! This brings so many things to mind. It’s soooo good! And flows so well with what the spirit has been working in me.

“We love Him because He first loved us.” “But God commended his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.”

Why does the love of many wax cold? Because we haven’t meditated on His love for us!

This last weekend I built a playhouse for a co-worker’s little girl. I got paid, but it was such a pleasure for me to build because the little girl reminded me of mine own. And to be part of their family for the weekend felt so good because it was as if I belonged.

Any service born out of love is a pleasure. Service born out of obligation and duty becomes drudgery. “This people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.”

I need to know more of His love.

I've been reading through the Gospel of John, and two miracles that Jesus did show the importance of servants.

In John 2: 1 - 11, we see the story of Jesus turning water into wine. Let's consider for a minute what actions He took.

Did Jesus touch the water? No.

Did Jesus touch the waterpots? No.

Did Jesus speak to the water, and command it to become wine? No.

Did Jesus pray over the water or the waterpots? No.

He spoke to the servants. They obeyed. A miracle happened.

Sure, Jesus performed a miracle, but He did so through the obedience and actions of servants.

Now consider the feeding of the five thousand in John 6: 1 - 14. This time Jesus did pray and touch something. He blessed and broke the bread and fish, and multiplied it enough not only to feed the crowd, but to produce leftovers for later.

But Jesus didn't distribute the food Himself. He told His disciples to have the people sit down in groups, and then to give them the food. Without their obedience, Jesus could have multiplied the bread and fish all day, and no one would have been fed. Or else, the people could have tried to line up to receive directly from Jesus, but then the crowd would have likely turned into a mob, and then only a few would have been fed before a riot broke out.

These disciples later became apostles. But in this one instance, Jesus used them first as ushers, then as waiters. We should always remember that the word 'minister' means servant.

Want to see miracles happen through you in the same way they happened through the Apostles? Become a servant, not just in your actions, but in your heart.

TRANSFORMATION KEYS to do the Plan of God in your life

Most of us have learned how to survive against the devil and the flesh to the degree that we have made up our minds that we are going to stay saved and serve God no matter what comes our way. The problem is that, even though we determine to stay saved, at times we still allow the devil to put a ceiling on what we will or will not DO FOR God. Or, for that matter, a ceiling on what we will or will not RECEIVE FROM God.
