TV shows with a paranormal theme
I wanted to mention that I’ve noticed a lot of TV shows recently airing with an interwoven theme of speaking to the dead. One such show previewed with the statement, “It’s not a curse; it’s a gift.” Wow! That amazes me because it sooo reminds me of the serpent’s comment directly to Eve – a direct contrast to the position of God’s voice: “You will not surely die, for God knows that in the day you eat thereof, you’re eyes will be opened knowing good and evil.”
That is exactly what is taking place within these shows. They are making the claim that by engaging in the activity that God says will bring a curse (communication with the dead or communication through a familiar spirit), that ones “eyes” will be open. The claim is being made that one can have revelation/information through a supernatural source. However, even in the shows the person is plagued with confusion, fits of jealousy, rage, a murdering spirit, constantly having to engage in lying – just to name of few! Oh, but that’s a gift (uh, huh, *sarcasm*)
Can you tell…this is a concern to me?! Because it is through the trading of the truth for a lie that people are seduced into deception/destruction. Many of the people I deal with at our church do not know the scriptures that well. So how can they guard themselves against these things? Ah, that’s where the shepherds/the mature are to oversee. So I offer this warning so you can guard the ones you encounter that are not aware: “Do you realize that this show supports…?”

Speaking as someone who has been on both sides of the plate, it is easy to get sucked into the lies. i was told years ago that I was "extremely gifted" and I persued the supernatural with everything i had. Before i got in too deep there was a time that the Holy Spirit pulled me so strongly to just open the bible and read His word. That week I decided to go looking for an explination as to what was happening to me, I went looking for a great powerful God in a church. Boy was I disapointed - I found myself in a dead building full of pretty people who knew nothing - they even thought i was a little strange. This only pushed me farther into the world. It was a sad day. Just thinking about it grieves my spirit.
Thank God he saved me from it all! thank God for praying in the Holy Ghost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely agree with you. These programs are getting people prepared for the false church where signs and wonders will manifest from the dark side. This started long ago with harmless programs like Bewitched. The exposure to the dark side has been increasing for many years now. The sad thing is that most of the body of Christ still denies the power of God come along side to help through the Holy Spirit. Until that changes through a group of people nothing will counter this onslaught from the enemy.
Our only guard is God's word and intimacy with the Holy Spirit. Beware of people that react when you say you are going to just a supernatural experience by God's word. Run from those Christians that rebuke you for judging anything according to the word. That is a sure setup for satan to gain ground that in some cases is hard to recover.
