Revival of Doctrine, Truth, Soundness of Mind and Sanity.

It is easy to study previous moves of God the past 200-300 years. Some emphasized repentance. Others emphasized healing. The Azusa Street revival revealed the power of the Holy Spirit in each individual Christian's life. Those of us that hunger for a true move of God really feel like the condition of the world really cries out for a move of God. We need answers that only the power of Jesus Christ can solve and permanently change.

I wonder what the next revival will look like. I so desire to see one that will not end until Christ returns.

What will it will take for that type of revival to take place?

How will one prepare for that to happen?

How will we know a true revival when it does hits the earth?

I don't know what the next revival will look like but I do know that revival comes when someone gets hungry for more than is currently available in the existing church. I'm sure it is in response to a move of the Holy Spirit but looking at it from the earthly side, usually a group of people start praying and fasting and looking to God for something new.

It seems like there is a hunger growing among believers to see God move. Yes, there are moves of the Spirit in the world today. Many would point to what is happening in Lakeland but whether you are pro or con it, I don't think there is really anything so new there. Healing is healing whether it is for scars or nerves or whatever.

Passover and Pentecost have both been fulfilled in the church, I kind of want to see what Tabernacles is going to look like.

Timothy, I totally agree that it will start with each person. I know I am approaching revival like that. I intend on experiencing what the Bible clearly says that I can. That will only happen as I gain revelation past head acceptance of what the Bible says. I am excited about that. As a person seeks the Lord like you mentioned, one thing that will happen is that the motivations will be purified. Only then will they be able to reach out and make a difference. A person like that cannot be bought or pulled away from the purpose of the mission. In this context the mission is to (1) be transformed - most important and (2) share the possibility of that transformation with others.

We are coming up on exciting days. It will start with each of us making the choice to pursue the Lord for ourselves.

It sounds like the revival you are describing is one where the Holy Spirit will direct it and Christ will actually get to be the head. What a novel concept that is (said tongue in cheek). It's about time church leadership stopped trying to "own" a congregation and trust that He who began the good work in them really will finish it. That way the revival will be able to continue without a man being credited for it.

It doesn't take away from individual church bodies, just allows the Holy Spirit to add to the church those with like vision to accomplish the task He has given to it.

Revival is coming and there is nothing satan can do to stop it. Conversely in order to reap the benefits of the revival in reward terms it behooves us to get on board the train and start working it, as Timothy eloquently said above me "First, revival in you. Then, revival in your family. Then, revival in your church. Then revival in your city. Then, your county. Then, your state. And so on."

I do not live in fear like I did at one time, but it has been a process, and satan likes to try and reset the clock from time to time. Fear keeps us from experiencing revival because we are afraid to step out. The hardest task is balancing wisdom with faith.
Just my 2 cents

Dave, welcome to IktusNETwork. I'm in Tulsa also. I was raised in Landover (now Springdale) MD outside of the DC area. I have been here since 1977.

I totally agree that the Holy Spirit will rule the day. He rules in us. As each of us move with what the Holy Spirit tells us about the heart of Jesus for our lives we will work in tandem and see an explosion that this planet has yet to see. Praying in tongues helps us with the wisdom and training. It will balance out the wisdom and faith. We will also have the grace to keep going when we misstep. Thank God for his graciousness. He sees our end and deals with us with that view. That is amazing to me. That gives me hope and eliminates condemnation.

Again, welcome Dave. It will be fun for us to meet you and your family when you arrive here.

I have been a Christian since I was a teenager many years ago. I never fit anywhere. I have been in church most of those years but it just seemed that the bar was very low in what we should expect as Christians. I had always been fascinated with the gospels and the book of Acts. To me they describe how God wants to intervene in the lives of mankind. What I did not realize was that I was being groomed for revival. Sad to say I did not understand this until I started attending The Prayer Center a few years ago. I would read about different revivals that I would consider true ones. My heart would ache thinking about how much I want to see it today. I spent a bit of time not being a part of a congregation. It was the best time of my life as far as how it impacted my walk with the Lord. I realized that my expectations were in line with the Bible. I also understood that the feeling of being crammed into a round hole was because my heart wanted what was in the Bible.

I asked the questions because there are themes that you see in the true moves of God. I also asked the questions because I humbly feel that people loosely use the term 'revival'. I grew up hearing of 'revival' meetings that were scheduled for a limited period of time. That is NOT revival. That is a series of meetings. The vast majority of the time the meetings were for a group of people. They generally did not impact the city as a whole. Revival to me impacts your surroundings and spreads outward. It facilitates a heart change through repentance first of all. It ignites something in believers. When that occurs they will have the passion to share it with others.

It is obvious to me that is not happening or else we would be seeing such an explosion of exploits being done by many of His people, not just a select list of leaders but ALL HIS PEOPLE. Somehow revelation of what we have must take place. Consecration (doing the message) must happen. It reveals those things that we do not see but that hinder our faith. One thing that is probably very important is the revealing of wrong doctrine. Anything that we are holding on to that is not accurate according to God's word will stop that part of the gospel from being active in our lives. At times we may not realize that we are believing something wrong until it is revealed to us as we seek Him.

I'm so grateful to be living in this time in history. There is such anticipation for things to change. There also seems to be a dramatic increase in the faith of those hungering for a true, powerful move of God. God responds to faith in Him. We are in for exciting days.

Hi, Pam and everyone else,
I'm new on the forum, but I have been lurking here for a while. I'm also Dave's uncle, and I live in the Tulsa Area, but I don't go to The Prayer Center. That might change.

To get a fuller perspective of revival, look at Israel in the Old Testament. They went through many revivals. They would slip into idolatry, their pagan enemies would come in and enslave them, God would raise up a leader (a judge, righteous king or prophet), and the leader would lead them on to victory on the battlefield, and to return to the Lord. Then they would slip into idolatry, and start the cycle over again. That is, until they were carried away into captivity. Then, in the books of Ezra and Nehemiah, we see a revival that lasted. The people did not slip back into idolatry after that.

What made the difference? For one thing, the people decided they weren't going back to their idolatrous ways. For the first time in years, the Word was made available to the people when Ezra read it to them. They celebrated the Feasts for the first time since the days of Joshua. They put away the influences that drew them away from the Lord (foreign wives). They took a stand and kept watch over the work.

The next revival could follow this pattern. We must decide we will never go back to, and to completely separate ourselves from the things that draw us away from the Lord. We must stand and watch for the attack of the enemy, and respond with faith when he tries to undermine the revival.

I could say more, but I need to look into this further. Consider this only a first glance.

Dave, I agree we must put the knife to any distraction. It will be His work in us that changes US, then the world we live in.

revival?? revival happens anytime ,anyone decides to quit trusting in thier own efforts for thier own survival. This fits with Jesus' statement " they that lose thier lives shall find it, and they that save thier own lives, shall lose it." Be it an organization of people collectively seeking God for revival or an individual . the paramount issue with God is, trusting Him. Trusting Him to be everything , that He speaks to us in His son Jesus.Jesus has been made unto us wisdom, yet how much are we to trust in his wisdom, for revival to be taking place. Jesus has been made unto us, righteousness, yet how many of know that we are supposed to obey God just exactly like Jesus did. He said to john the baptist " suffer it to be so UNTO ALL RIGHTEOUSNESS,".Jesus has been made unto us , our justification, justification basically means jesus was the satisfier of justice,He giving himself a ransom for all who would trust in him, believe on him, come to him and abide in him,BY TAKING UP OUR CROSS DAILY!! and following him, and him alone. what trust this truely is !!!.Jesus has been made unto us our, sanctification.Sanctification basically means setting us apart from anything unholy, and thereby being fit for serving life, serving one another, basically sanctification , and being sanctified means we have something that we can love God with that He is pleased with and that is purity of motive. Jesus life was in his blood , his life has been made unto us wisdom ,righteousness ,justification and sanctification. Jesus' life , His Blood , the blood represents the motive of his heart which pumps blood!!the blood represents all !! the sumation of all he said and did. All of jesus' acts were done in complete trust , that he did only what he saw and spoke only what he heard from the Heavenly Father. revival is happening and if you do not know it , it really is only because you do not trust God as you should.I am not implying by saying this, that you are to blame for this ,because the reasons for distrust in God are so varried .Yet all those that trust Him truely are in revival !!! not trusting God fully is the only thing that stops revival , and tusting God is what brings revival. Our Heavenly father has not made this difficult!! Jesus said" depart from me ye workers of iniquity for i do not know you " i have to ask how can the one who's eyes are a flame of fire and is the living word of God , that penetrates the thoughts and intents of the heart, say " depart from me ye workers of iniquity, for I DO NOT KNOW YOU , and the these workers of iniquity are sent to a place of crying and knashing of teeth, meaning a sad place of existence in thier relationships with others, where they are crying and fighting verbally with one another. I personally used to fight and cry and knash teeth with my first wife. i would pray and pray and pray and pray about our relations, a lot . Yet with her i always seemed to be in a place of weeping and knashing of teeth . Till, ONE DAY, i read in Psalms the words....I KNOW THOSE WHO TRUST ME !!! i went out and cried out to god to show me how to tust him and to forgive me for not trusting him in that area of my life at the time. I can honestly say that i was never in a place of weeping and knashing teeth with my wife again . when real revival happens we will see a people who love not thier own lives unto death , they will be servants of all , they will be going from house to house daily, teaching and ministering to the needs of others they will be selling what they have extra of to meet the needs of others, they will be growing from glory to glory.they will not need to be taught of anyone, for they will be a living epistle read by all who come in cotact with them. Every day will be a new day!! in the New and living way, of truely trusting in God, By Jesus Christ our Lord. It is the fathers Good Pleasure to give us the kingdom. When we get real about trusting and obeying Him. Revival is sure to follow those who trust him enough to

Doing the message (prayer, fasting, meditating the word, confessions, private worship, etc.) will show us places of unbelief and where we do not trust the Lord. I know I'm seeking Him and he is revealing those areas of unbelief. A lot of unbelief we may not immediately see. I'm so grateful how the Holy Spirit reveals those areas so we can change (repent) and press forward in Him. When we see as He sees and we only do what He tells us to do (obedience) as Jesus only obeyed what the Father told Him to do we will see revival manifest in our lives.

I was wondering what it will look like so a friend and I starting imagining... people praying in the isles at the grocery store with each other and for each other. People smiling, meeting and greeting in the streets, at work and sharing testimonies. His presense falling around them drawing others to come over and ask what it is we have, and can they have it.
People getting healed on buses and trains and in work lunch rooms.
I was witness to a revivial in regional Australia in the late 70's early 80's and that's what it looked like then. So it will be like that but in every suburb and every city and town here.
Like the Lord said said to Joshua SEE I have given you....picture it...see it...jump on it when it happens in the natural.

As I was making confessions this morning about revival in my city, it dawned on me that I cannot have an attitude of: "When God gets ready, then we'll have revival" or "When it happens, it happens."

Because this type attitude is a backed off, unengaged attitude.

But rather, I must have the attitude, "I am going to make revival happen!" This is an attitude of personal responsibility.

"The kingdom of heaven is advanced because forceful men lay hold of it."

TRANSFORMATION KEYS to do the Plan of God in your life

Most of us have learned how to survive against the devil and the flesh to the degree that we have made up our minds that we are going to stay saved and serve God no matter what comes our way. The problem is that, even though we determine to stay saved, at times we still allow the devil to put a ceiling on what we will or will not DO FOR God. Or, for that matter, a ceiling on what we will or will not RECEIVE FROM God.
